Hey guys and welcome to goodness! Today’s goodness is about a tool to stop microfibers from entering the ocean! Cora Ball, is a special ball designed by Rozalia Project. Made out of recycled and recyclable plastic, Cora Ball can be used to trap microfibers from your clothes. Did you know that many of our clothes contain synthetic fibers? And these plastic fibers usually get washed out by the washing machine. But, because the fibers are so small and hard to filter, they end up being washed out into the ocean and eaten by fish. Meaning that when we eat fish, we’re actually eating our clothes. Thus, Cora Ball was made, modeled after coral, to let water pass, but catch smaller things in the water. The current model of Cora Ball is able to catch about 30% of microfibers per load, which may not seem like a lot, but if 10% of US households used this product, it would prevent about 30 million bottles worth of plastic from being washed out into the ocean! And that’s today’s goodness! See you tomorrow!
