How to Clean a Thin Skin Hair System | Hair Direct


HD Skin Learning Series Base Cleaning After you remove your HD Skin hair system You’ll need to thoroughly clean the base So it’s ready for your next attachment It’s important to be very gentle With your thin skin hair system As the base is fragile and can tear Also, if there is stress and stretching while cleaning The system will tend to lose hair much easier We’ve developed a safe, and easy process To remove the adhesive from your base So that you don’t damage it during cleaning We recommend you have a second hair system To allow ample time for Cleaning, drying and rebonding While your base is, well, essentially cleaning itself You will need A sink CleanSkin base cleaner A plastic container with a lid Large enough to comfortably hold Your hair system A scalp cleansing brush Hydrating shampoo Deep cleansing shampoo A Styrofoam head A poly tip blow dry brush And a hand towel Step 1: Soak your hair system First pour some CleanSkin base cleaner Into the container Enough to fully submerge the base of your hair system Next place your system into the container With the hair side up And submerge the base So that the adhesive residue Is completely covered with the base cleaner Your base needs to be completely submerged So if you need to Go ahead and add more base cleaner to the container Once the base is fully submerged Close the lid And allow it to soak for 8 to 24 hours Step 2: Remove adhesive from the base After a minimum of 8 hours To a maximum of 24 hours Carefully remove the system from the cleaning solution Then go to your sink And hold your hair system under cold, running water The adhesive should easily peel away from the base If you need to You can use your brush To carefully remove the adhesive from the base Then rinse thoroughly Step 3: Shampoo the hair system After you’ve removed the adhesive Shampoo the hair and the base twice With a deep cleansing shampoo To remove any cleaning solution From the hair and base Then rinse thoroughly After using the deep cleansing shampoo Distribute a hydrating shampoo and wash your hair Rinse in cold water Step 4: Dry the base and hair To dry the hair system Simply lay it on a towel Fold the towel over And gently press out the excess water Then lay it hair side up On a Styrofoam head Don’t use pins Gently arrange the hair the way you like it And let the system air dry for about 24 hours After the base and hair are completely dry You can apply adhesive to the base again We recommend you reapply ProTouch FusionBond Extended-Wear Adhesive If your system came pre-glued For detailed instructions on how to apply this adhesive Please watch the video Applying FusionBond Adhesive
